Steve Robins, board president
Stephen is the Managing Partner and Co-founder of Spark Healthcare Consultants, a Brooklyn, NY based public health firm that develops validated-programs to address unmet needs inn pediatric chronic disease. Since the company’s inception, Stephen and his team have created and launched programs for both patients and healthcare professionals in cystic fibrosis, type 1 diabetes, type 2 diabetes, exocrine pancreatic insufficiency (EPI), and Hemophilia A. The evidence-based programs developed by Spark have been featured in numerous professional journals, posters and quality improvement programs across the United States.
Arek Puzia, Board Treasurer
Arek, CPA, graduated from UCLA with degrees in accounting anc economics. He then worked for IBM, setting up acounting systems for large corporations. He returned to school to obtain a MBA at the University of Chicago, Booth School of Business, where he focused on finance. Arek then went on to Merrrill Lynch’s Capital Markets group in London. There, he worked won a large trading desk and focused on foreign currencies, commodities and bonds. Arek now resides in the San Francisco Bay area with his wife and 3-year-old daughter, who lives with cystic fibrosis.
Joey klausing, Board Secretary
Joey graduated from Centre College with a Bachelor of Arts degree and from the University of Louisville Brandeis School of Law with his Juris Doctorate. His practice currently includes the defense of physicians and hospitals in malpractice claims, the defense of attorneys in legal malpractice actions and various general litigation matters. Joey is AV rated by his peers which reflects the highest levels of ethical and legal ability ratings. Joey is the founder and director of Cure CF, a Louisville-based charity, that has raised over $500,000 for cystic fibrosis in the past two years.
